Distance Brothers Transportation Services began in Corpus Christi in 2011, founded by brothers Drew and Spencer Anderwald after returning home from Birmingham, Alabama.
While attending Samford University, Drew gained hands-on experience in valet service, parking management, and shuttle transportation. That experience helped shape the idea for Distance Brothers, which began with a single valet stand in Corpus Christi.
The company soon expanded into parking lot management, shuttle services, trucking, and trailer rentals. After securing DOT operating authority and purchasing its first shuttle bus in 2012, the brothers recognized the opportunity in passenger transportation and began building the company around it.
Today, Distance Brothers operates a fleet of approximately 14 motorcoaches, supported by a full-service Corpus Christi facility and a team of nearly 30 employees.
The company remains family-owned. Drew serves as President and oversees daily operations and growth. Spencer serves as owner and CFO, focusing on finance, fleet acquisitions, capital planning, and long-term strategy. Additional family leadership supports market expansion, digital development, infrastructure, and growth of the company’s charter and tour operations.
Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend remain home, but Distance Brothers now provides charter bus and group transportation throughout Texas and across the country, with a growing presence in San Antonio, Austin, Victoria, the Rio Grande Valley, Houston, and Laredo.
